At the start of a brow lift, anesthesia will be administered to ensure you’re comfortable throughout the procedure. Once that sets in, Dr. Andrews will make small incisions to start the procedure. The incisions are made along the hairline so that an endoscope with a camera on the end can be inserted under the skin. This allows Dr. Andrews to see what’s going on as he adjusts the tissues and muscles and corrects any wrinkles or sagging skin.
Once he’s finished, Dr. Andrews will close the incisions using sutures and skin adhesives.
Recovery
As you recover, your head may be loosely wrapped with a bandage to minimize swelling and bruising. Dr. Andrews will provide specific instructions on how to properly care for your incisions, what medication to take, and when to schedule a follow-up appointment. You will be able to go home the same day, but you will need a friend or family member to drive you home.
Once at home, you’ll want to keep your head elevated and avoid any strenuous activities. You’ll also want to avoid putting ice or heat on the treatment area.
You will be able to remove your bandages in one to three days. If dissolvable stitches are used, you don’t need to worry about getting them removed, but if they aren’t dissolvable, we usually remove them seven to ten days after the procedure.
You will likely see some results immediately, but the full results will become visible once the swelling diminishes completely.
