If you are struggling with hormone imbalances, finding the right treatment for you can feel overwhelming. That’s where Biote hormone replacement comes in. Unlike hormonal supplements and medications, Biote hormone replacement therapy involves a simple, noninvasive treatment a few times a year, after which you can go about your daily life. It will balance your hormones and give you the relief you’ve been seeking.
What is Biote Hormone Replacement?
Biote hormone replacement is a form of pellet therapy that delivers bioidentical hormones directly to the bloodstream. These hormones are structurally identical to the hormones our body naturally produces, which means your body won’t know the difference.
The pellets are small capsules that are inserted into the area near your hip, and as the hormones move through your body, they are naturally delivered and absorbed by the body to address a hormone imbalance.
At Dr. Andrews Plastic Surgery, your hormone replacement therapy can be customized to you and your needs.
Who is a Good Candidate for Biote Hormone Replacement?
Biote hormone replacement therapy can be a good option for many people dealing with hormone imbalances. Some of the qualifications that can make someone a good candidate for this unique treatment include:
- Adults dealing with symptoms of hormonal imbalance due to the aging process
- Women going through menopause
- Men experiencing a decline in testosterone
- Nonsmokers
The Biote Hormone Replacement Procedure
The Biote hormone replacement procedure is relatively simple. The Biote pellet will be inserted near the hip or the upper buttocks. To start, the area will be numbed, and then Dr. Andrews will make a small incision. From there, the hormone pellet will be inserted, and the area will be covered with a small bandage. You will be in and out of the office in no time and can go back to your daily routine immediately.
Once the pellet is inserted, your body will develop capillaries around it, and from there, the hormones will be directly delivered into the bloodstream within the first day of the procedure. You should start to feel relief within a day or two.
Once the pellet is completely absorbed by the body, a new one will be inserted. You will need a new hormone replacement pellet inserted every 4-6 months.
Aftercare
There is no downtime or recovery with Biote hormone replacement pellet therapy. You can return to your normal routine immediately. You will want to keep the incision clean, but beyond that, you simply need to enjoy the effects of the treatment. You will start to feel relief from your symptoms within a day or so.
You will want to avoid strenuous activity and heavy lifting for the first few days after the pellet is inserted. You’ll also want to avoid massaging the insertion site.
