How Does Renuvion Work?
Renuvion is a minimally-invasive procedure that only requires a small incision to deliver a powerful combination of helium plasma energy and radiofrequency energy (RF energy) underneath the surface of the skin using a tiny probe. The helium and RF energies heats underlying tissue to a safe temperature, causing the subcutaneous tissues and collagen fibers to contract and shrink. It also encourages the growth of new collagen, a protein that naturally gives the skin elasticity and a firm texture. As new collagen production increases, it provides an additional skin tightening effect to turn back the clock on aging. What is the Renuvion Procedure Like?

Dr. Andrews and his staff use a small cannula approximately the size of a needle to penetrate the skin and deliver thermal energy to the tissue below, contracting subcutaneous soft tissue and treating loose skin directly at the source. Because the device is very small, there is no visible scarring after the procedure. Most treatments take one hour or less and patients are usually able to return to regular activities immediately following the procedure.
What Can I Expect from My Results?
The tiny Renuvion device means patients do not have to worry about a long healing process or surgical scarring. Patients may have mild to moderate swelling and bruising for a few days after their treatment, which can be treated with anti-inflammatory medication, a compression garment, cold compresses, and rest. Although most normal activities can be resumed after one week, we recommend that you avoid strenuous exercise for a couple weeks to ensure safety and optimal results. Tighter, more youthful-looking skin can be seen after a few weeks, and will continue to improve for about 3-4 months as new collagen and tissue contraction develop. Most patients will achieve desired results in a single treatment session and the results may last for many years.
