Life is full of surprises. Most of them you take in stride, adapting to each unexpected change as best you can. But adapting to signs of aging like hair loss is a different matter. You’ll never forget the first time you get a sunburn on the crown of your head, for example. You’ll find that your hat collection is suddenly more extensive than it once was, or that you know much more about common shampoo ingredients than you ever thought you would.
Before you resign yourself to a life of thinning, balding and receding, consider the alternative: a hair restoration treatment that brings back your once-youthful head of hair, and revives your self-confidence along with it. If this sounds like the solution you want for your hair loss concerns, you might be a good candidate for NeoGraft with Corridor Hair Restoration.
Hair Loss Treatment for Men and Women
Nearly 80 million men and women struggle with hair loss in the United States. Whether the cause is genetic, hormonal or illness related, losing hair is never easy. A full head of hair is often a source of pride, a sign of youth and vitality or an essential aspect of personal style. Hair type and color can deeply affect your sense of identity, and even be a connection to your family or heritage. Losing your hair can feel like losing a part of yourself, and it can negatively impact your confidence and self-worth.
NeoGraft brings an all-new, technology-driven approach to a treatment called follicular unit excision, or FUE — the current industry standard for high-quality, natural-looking hair restoration surgery. The automated tools used in the NeoGraft procedure replace painstaking handheld techniques that have limited hair restoration surgeons for many years. With NeoGraft, you can get more reliable results with a faster treatment and a quicker recovery process.
What is Follicular Unit Excision?
If you’re exploring your options for hair restoration, follicular unit excision (FUE) is a type of surgery that you’ll likely see touted as the most effective and seamless method of permanently combating hair loss. Other techniques like hair plugs and strip surgery, though effective, often produce unnatural looking results or leave visible scarring that limits clients’ ability to wear certain hairstyles.
With FUE, individual hair follicles are removed one at a time and transplanted individually into the thinning or balding area. The results are fully customizable and look very natural; each hair is placed carefully for optimal coverage and evenly spaced to look like your own hair. In addition, scarring is limited to tiny incisions at the base of each individually transplanted follicle, so it is easily hidden with any length of hair growth.
While FUE does produce excellent hair restoration results, the procedure is time-consuming and requires incredible patience and focus on the part of your surgeon. Most FUE procedures require that your surgeon selects and excises hundreds — even thousands — of individual hair follicles, sorts them, creates individual recipient sites for each follicle and then manually places the excised follicles into the recipient sites. The surgery can take hours to complete, which drives up surgical costs and risks.
NeoGraft: Improving FUE with Cutting-Edge Technology
The NeoGraft procedure was created to make FUE more manageable for surgeons without sacrificing the quality of clients’ results. NeoGraft uses specialized tools and technology to make follicle excision, cleaning and implantation faster and more streamlined. In particular, the ergonomic NeoGraft excision tool is designed to improve your surgeon’s speed and accuracy while harvesting donor hair follicles. It also uses pneumatic pressure — a type of compressed-air system — to remove each hair follicle rapidly and with minimal damage. This allows the follicles to be cleaned and sorted more quickly and means that a much higher percentage of excised follicles will be viable and ready for transplantation.
Why Choose NeoGraft?
NeoGraft offers many benefits over traditional FUE, and over other approaches to hair restoration surgery. Some of the key differences include:
- Shorter procedure time
- Shorter recovery time
- No visible scarring, no limitations on future hairstyles
- More accurate hair harvesting
- Fewer hair follicles excised since a higher percentage are undamaged during excision
- More transplanted follicles that “take,” preventing the need for tough-up procedures
- Reduced physician fatigue lowers risks and potential errors
- FDA-cleared for both men and women
- Appropriate for most hair types and colors
- May be used in areas other than the scalp, including body hair, facial hair and eyebrows
- May be used to cover scarring (e.g. burns or previous scarring from strip hair restoration surgery)
NeoGraft is ideal for people who are in overall good health, have moderate hair loss and have sufficient donor hair elsewhere on their scalp. It’s an excellent option for patients who are looking for a procedure that will give them all-natural results and the flexibility to wear their full head of hair in any style they want.

What is NeoGraft Like?
Your particular NeoGraft procedure will depend on a variety of factors, such as the number of grafts you are transplanting, the size of the thinning area you are hoping to cover and your natural hair type. But the process remains the same for all patients.
First, you and Dr. Andrews will work together to set expectations for your results — how much coverage you will have, the shape and location of your new hairline and more. Then, on the day of your surgery, Dr. Andrews will carefully map out where each graft will be placed in order to achieve your desired results. You’ll be kept comfortable with anesthesia during the procedure. Typically, local anesthesia is sufficient since the process is minimally invasive.
Dr. Andrews will identify a section of your healthiest hair and shave a portion so that the individual hair follicles are visible. Then, he uses the NeoGraft tool to extract healthy follicles in a pattern that won’t leave patchy regrowth. While these follicles are being processed and sorted, Dr. Andrews prepares precise pockets in the thinning areas of your hair, distributing them evenly for best coverage. The donor follicles are placed in these pockets, where they will take root as permanent hair growth. Dr. Andrews then cleans all affected areas, provides you and the friend or family member who is picking you up with aftercare instructions, and you are free to go home to begin your recovery.
NeoGraft Recovery
NeoGraft is a surgical procedure, but it is a minimally invasive one that keeps incisions to a minimum and does not require any sutures or stitches. The NeoGraft tool creates tiny punctures at each donor and recipient site, and these heal on their own after just a few days. Most NeoGraft patients are able to return to work and daily activities one or two days after their procedure and are back to activities like exercising within a week or two.
You will have some specialized aftercare instructions for keeping your new hair clean and avoiding unnecessary irritation. Dr. Andrews will give you a packet of information and suggestions for keeping yourself comfortable. He will also provide you with contact information, so you know who to call in case you have questions or concerns.
NeoGraft Expectations
NeoGraft creates natural-looking results with minimal risks and a simple recovery, but it can’t return your hair to its complete youthful fullness, nor can it stop the natural hair loss process over time. Your transplanted hairs are likely to remain in place for life, but you may notice that you lose other hair in the area or elsewhere on your head as you continue to age. Because of the risk of continued loss of your native hair, you will be counselled on medications and techniques that can help maintain your native hair and prevent further loss. If you are living with male or female pattern hair loss and you expect that your hair will continue to thin, you should talk to Dr. Andrews about your options for the future of your hair after NeoGraft. Together, you can create a full plan for your hair, both for NeoGraft and in the event of further balding, thinning or receding.
